Merry Krampus 2015 by Gamma-Wings Merry Krampus 2015 by Gamma-Wings
What would two evil birds do together on Christmas? Blow up an ice planet of course, nothing more exciting than seeing a planet go "boom", am I right? Christmas is a time to spend time with your friends and family, and frankly that's exactly what these two are doing. Poor ice planet inhabitants though, hehe. I can just imagine that one of the inhabitants is in that room, and those two are looking at them as if to say "look at your world one last time, your kind has done us great harm and now you get the payment".

I bet they'd be more interested in seeing the Krampus than Santa, though I suspect that Santa would only give them coal anyway. But as far as gifts go, Paul would be happy with a giant Paramecium to snuggle with and Korsho would like some new weapons for his collection.

This took me a long time to do, especially the line art and getting it to look right. Interesting actually, how before the line art stage didn't slow down my artwork so much. But nevertheless I'm happy with how it turned out, even though it's far from a traditional Christmas picture.

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you're all having a good time. :D

Awesome work! Love the ambiance in your space scenes! It's like these scenes were rendered using an advanced multimillion dollar graphics engine; just look at how realistically the star illuminates Korsho's crest feathers and the spaceship interior (And that wee lil' lens flare is awesome too :D).

Okay, how did I miss this... XD

Leave it to these two to blow up a planet! XD
Well done, Gamma! I like the glowing look of the molten material on that planet... Looks really nice.

I'm not sure, but you get to see it now. ;)

Yes definitely, the best destroyers of worlds they are!
Thank you! I'm glad you like it. Yes drawing that molten lava was a challenge but well worth it.

I never pictured Paul as the world-killer type. Of course, that goofy face is suspicious.
I did wonder, though, how large do you imagine these birds to be? Earth birdie-size, or maybe larger?

Well, that he is. :D He is not to be trusted. Yep, despite seeming friendly he's actually quite dangerous.
Larger than typical earth birds, likely around the size of an albatross. So, they're dangerous for us humans.

I love the idea of blowing up a planet. Maybe we can have a technology like this in future too. I love the way you drew Korsho in front view. He looks cool the same time sinister.

Haha I'm glad you do. I admit it appeals to me too. Hmm we might, if we discover a more efficient method to break apart large masses of matter. Thanks, I'm very glad to hear he looks both cool and sinister... I was going for that look. :D

I imagine that that's going to create quite a few meteors as well, how diabolical. An explosion of that proportion would be pretty epic to watch. Well done with the background, brilliant shading work as well. I like the prominent highlighting, suits the picture well. Korsho has such a cool design, especially like how he's mostly in shadow and how calm and smug Paul is, makes them both look really malevolent. That would really-really be terrible for their captive, heh.
Bit late for Christmas now, I suppose, but Happy New Year :)

Haha certainly, nearby planets beware. :D But, diabolical is what these two do best. Yes I'm sure it would be, I'd love to see a huge explosion like that... hehe. Thank you, glad you like the background and shading! I like doing those highlights, makes them stand out more. Thank you, I'm very glad you like his design! And yes, Paul is rather smug here... clearly he approves of destroying a planet. Glad to hear that they both look malevolent, as that they are. The captive won't last for long, Paul will dissect them... alive.
Thanks for wishing me a happy New Year. ^^ I hope 2016 is going well for you so far.

Actually, Krampus is not that bad of a dude as the latest movie of him tries to showcase, but I guess he would take Korsho to his lair for a year, if that was a good idea to try, since he would definitely be on the naughty list of Saint Nikolaus. Considering that this planet over there does not seem to be holding together much more with it's tectonic plates tearing open like on Judgement Day. Not even the archangels would dare to apprehend Korsho at that point.
Well, now I am back into the holiday mood. Have a nice New Year's Eve, which we also call Silvester!

I'll be honest I haven't seen the movie, but it's thanks to it I heard about the Krampus. Yes, I'm sure the Krampus would like to try and abduct Korsho... which would be a terrible idea, since the Krampus will likely be killed and experimented on. Yes, there's no doubt about that Korsho's on Santa's (very) naughty list. The planet will indeed soon tear apart, these are its last moments before complete collapse. Yea, I'm sure most beings wouldn't dare agitate him... this is a super villain of epic proportions.
I had a nice New Years eve, certainly. I hope you did too. :D

:XD: I love the title. I've always loved the myth surrounding Krampus, and the movie that came recently has sparked a lot of inside jokes between my sister and I. In fact, my dad wrote "From Krampus" on the box for our new rifle. I bet these two would love to see Krampus too. Great job on this.

I'm glad you do. I heard about the Krampus recently actually, but I must say I love this guy now. So much more interesting than Santa, in my opinion. :XD: I'm not surprised that you and your sister make jokes about him. You got a rifle? That's so cool! Here in Canada that's not a possibility. Yea they definitely, maybe they'd form an alliance and go cause mayhem on Christmas eve. Just a group of villains doing what villains do best. Thank you!

Oh wow, I love that shading on the feathers, and those details.
It just struck me how far you've come with your art my friend, mighty proud.
And I don't know what's scarier, Korsho's glare or the fact that Paul's just smiling as a planet blows up behind him.
Well done my friend, this looks amazing

I'm very proud of how far I've come too, and I'm glad you also see that I've improved. Well it's only uphill from here.
Hehe I think it's best to just be scared of both. They're both very dangerous, and will either kill or experiment on you. And if you're lucky, you'll end up enslaved.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it. ^^

Merry Christmas. This sounds like a fun thing to do on Christmas. Death to our enemies!  Ah the dreaded inking/line art. Welcome to my world now.  It sure is annoying and slow everything down big time. But you can't finish without it. I like how the window is colored with a light line that makes it very nice lighting effect.

Thank you! Yea I bet it is a lot of fun, hehe. Nothing like destroying your enemies on Christmas. :D What a "wonderful" world this is. I do remember when inking seemed easier, but back then I wasn't as concerned with precision and accuracy as I am now. It is very annoying and it does slow everything down, hence why I do lineless art for little quick things. Indeed, I cannot finish a "big" detailed peice of art without the lineart. Digital painting doesn't really cut it. Thank you, I was going for that lighting effect.

I remember those days too. I think of when I used to make Godzilla art and thought I was so good and so fast but didn't care about line quality.  Once you start making stuff at a professional level it's a slow going progress.  Yes I have found digital painting is not enough and things don't look good without lines.

I was the same but with my crappy bird art. :XD: I used to think it was great and I'm simply a fast artist, but now I see that it's pretty bad. So, I'm glad we have that in common then. My art process definitely is slowing down. Yea agreed, digital painting simply isn't as great as lined art, especially for my realistic cartoons.

Blowing up planets, that would certainly be an exciting thing to watch! I really like the lighting in this. Especially on the two birds, ie. the individual highlights on each of the feathers makes for a really nice level of detail. And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too c:

Great job!
You should draw Paul as a paramecium!
That would be cool.
Anyway great work I love the attention to detail, the characters themselves really cool. Love the atmosphere the lighting and such it gives off.
It's always fun watching planets go Alderan in your own personal Death Star. Trust me I used to play SPORE! lol

Glad you like the idea!
SPORE was fun. But the login was with Origin, and the game did not live up to the hype it got. It lasted a while (from 2008 to around 2012.  I haven't been online in years! It kinda went downhill and fell. Well you know what they say, "The bigger they are, the more violently they painfully disintegrate into rubble and ruin!" :D (Big Grin) ;) (Wink)
